On Wednesday morning the entire school went down to the Malhivern woods for a day of Literacy-based Forest School activities as part of our Literacy Week. From Nursery to Year 9, a fantastic time was had by all. The children took part in various workshops led by our teachers, who loved getting outdoors and working with the children in the open air.
The workshops were incredibly varied – from meditation to music, ground art to grizzly bears, and sense poetry to stick phonics!
What a fantastic day of hands-on, experience-based literacy work, and so much fun!
We also made an important contribution to the campaign to save the Malhivern forest from development, as we made a huge banner that told everyone that ‘ISCAT estima el Malhivern tal com està!’ and the whole school posed for pictures holding it. We are proud to support the campaign, and protect our local forest.
