On Tuesday, our students had a Science and Maths Day based on health and a balanced diet. All the children thoroughly enjoyed it and were very engaged in the activities.
In Early Years and KS1 the children played games about the different food groups, did an art activity using fruit while learning about the importance of fruit and vegetables and did Yoga with Cristina involving maths and healthy foods.
KS2 had rotated around four different activities. These were measuring and comparing the amount of sugars in drinks, using ethanol to show fats in different foods, learning about the importance of fruits and vegetables and then creating pictures with fruit and playing food pyramid games.
Hopefully it will encourage children to think more carefully about the food they eat and having a balanced diet.
