Last Friday in the Primary Assembly we talked about ‘The National Day of Catalonia’, which is celebrated on September 11th.
On this day we celebrate the 1714 defeat in the War of Succession when Barcelona fell into the Felip V’s invading troops’ hands, after 13 months of siege. This celebration is in honor of the brave people who heroically defended the city until the last moment.
In assembly we talked about this day and some families’ different traditions, for example going to Barcelona city and visit El Fossar de les Moreres, to attend floral tributes or meeting all together for lunch and have a cake with the four bars of the Senyera (Catalan flag) and visiting the city afterwards.
