🌀 Squiggle Whilst You Wiggle 🕺✨ is an exciting early writing program we’re implementing in our Reception class at Iscat! This innovative approach combines dance, music, and large movements to help children develop the fine muscle control needed for writing. 🎶💃
In these fun sessions, kids learn new gross motor movements with ‘Flipper Flappers’ (bits of fabric) while dancing. They then transfer these movements to floor level, swapping the flappers for writing tools like crayons and chalk to make marks on the ground or paper. ✏️
As they move, children think of letters they can form, building their confidence as mark makers. Squiggle Whilst You Wiggle is not just fun and motivating; it gets our little ones actively engaged in developing their writing skills! Let the creativity flow!
