Our Year 5 class welcomed their parents into school to show them some of the things that they have been learning about in school. 🤗
Presenting skills are very important in the development of communication, which is arguably one of the most important skills for future success both on a personal and professional level.
The students used drama to demonstrate their understanding that many children across the world are not allowed to enjoy their Right to Education. From children who travel for many hours by foot to arrive at school each day, to those who are work in child labour and who have not been allowed the opportunity. There was also a very powerful message of inequality through fast fashion and the impact which our consumerism society has on the lives of children.
A finale which brought a cruel reminder of the current conflict in Ukraine where hundreds of thousands of children are no longer accessing their basic human rights. It was very touching and touched the hearts of everyone in the room.
Huge congratulations to Year 5 and their wonderful teacher, Alice, for their hard work. 👏
