On Thursday morning the Year 4 students went to visit the town hall of La Garriga, the archive and the local police station. They got the chance to meet Dolors Castella, the mayor of La Garriga. They ask her questions like, how long did she work for during the day, what was the best thing about her job, her ideas for more parks to play in town, etc. She was very nice and answered each and every question the children asked.

After that, we got very lucky and entered the archive room where they showed us the oldest document that they have which was from 1400’s. The children were amazed looking at the scroll and seeing the latin writing on it. The lady allowed them to move the wheels of the different shelves and they were amazed.
Last but not least, the highlight of the morning was to meet two very nice police women who showed us around the station. She also answered very interesting questions on road safety and being responsible citizens. The last part of the visit ended on a high note as Year 4 was able to see the police car and even go inside to turn on the lights and the siren.
It was a fantastic time and learning experience for Year 4 as a way to end their city project from Catalan!
