Our Year 9 students enjoyed their forest school session with a difference: in groups they followed maps to enter into a new area of forest in La Garriga where they discovered many unknown paths.
The class divided into two groups, having chosen alternative routes and made a complete circuit before relaxing and enjoying some classic whittling with our knives. Along the route both groups came across obstacles which required them to think critically and consider their options and we were very impressed with their sense of logic and team work.
In preparation for the Duke of Edinburgh Award in Year 10, we began to learn more specific navigation skills that will ensure that they are ready for the challenge of the award next year.
